Cocktails for Memorial Day

Enjoy a few new cocktails to toast the start of summer. These are light, refreshing, and often fruity cocktails that will bring out the best summer flavors, whether at the beach or in the backyard.

Lounge Chair Afternoon

As its name suggests, this sipper is perfect for outdoor drinking in the sun. The drink is anchored by pink port, joining grapefruit, lemon juices, and Anejo Tequila. Add a splash of simple tarragon sugar for a subtle herbal touch to make it a relaxing afternoon.

The berries are mixed with honey syrup and then shaken with Licor 43, raspberry vodka, blood orange liqueur, lemon juice, and lemon juice to make an elegant cocktail.

El Guapo

This cocktail is certainly handsome and will impress all your guests with its striking hues and delicious flavors. The combination of passion fruit, blood orange, and pomegranate purées packs a punch. It’s enhanced by Blanco tequila as well as fresh lime. Amanda Carto is the bar manager at Nickel City, Austin, Texas. This summer-inspired drink puts Cointreau first and foremost. This Collins-style cocktail features an orange liqueur, Japanese whiskey, lemon juice, and green tea syrup. It is topped with a splash o tonic water.

Salty Dog

What happens when you add a little salt to a Greyhound? This cocktail is exactly what you need. This two-ingredient drink is very simple. It’s essential to select high-quality ingredients as their flavors will shine through. To give the drink its unique flavor, a good gin or vodka and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice are all you need.

Peach Beer Julep

Your Juleps don’t need to be left behind. The Kentucky Derby is available for purchase. Lynette Marrero is the co-founder of Speed Rack and the beverage director at Llama Group. This refreshing take on the classic cocktail will keep you going all summer. The IPA syrup’s pronounced flavor makes it a great pairing for peach slices. Bourbon adds a nice finish. This should be served in a Julep with plenty of crushed ice.

Cucumber Gimlet

This vegetal twist on the Gimlet is refreshing. Mix muddled lime wheels with gin, lime juice, and simple syrup. The result is a refreshing and light drink that can be enjoyed on the veranda.
