Who founded Sula Vineyards’?

Rajeev Samant, a Stanford graduate, founded Sula Vineyards. He transformed the family’s fruit farm into a thriving winery and named it after his mother, Sulabha.

What’s Sula Vineyards’ fame for?

Sula has been a pioneer in many innovations over the years:

  • It was the birthplace of the first Grenache Rose in the country and the first sparkling Shiraz wine.
  • It produced Kadu India’s first “Wildlife Wine” in four varieties: Chenin Blanc (Caber Shiraz), Shiraz Rose (Shiraz Rose) and Sauvignon Blanc.
  • It introduced India’s first “wine in can” called “Dia”, in both red- and white varieties.

The Sula Vineyard Estate produces some delectable labels of fine wine, including:

  • Rasa red wine collections: This red wine collection includes Rasa Cabernet Sauvignon, Rasa Syrah, and Rasa Zinfandel, aged in French oak barrels. These reds have a high alcohol percentage of 14%.
  • Dindori dry wines collection: The Dindori Collection includes the Dindori Reserve Viognier and the Dindori Reserve Chardonnay aged in French oak barrels for a year. The Dindori Reserve Shiraz is also included. These wines are good for alcohol consumption, with an average of 12.5 to 14% ABV.
  • The Source collection: The source consists of Rose, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and Grenache Rose.

Sula also offers over 30 varieties of classic wines, including Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Brut, Brut Tropicale and Sparkling Shiraz and Zinfandel Rosa.
