Region: Finca Vistalba, Upper Mendoza River – Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina
When to drink: best from 2010.
Style: Rich textured and full bodied.
Foods: Ideal for just sipping on its own or enjoy with red meat, roast turkey, chicken and Italian foods.
Varieties: 90% Malbec,10% Cabernet Sauvignon
Colour: Intense red colour with a deep black reflection.
Nose: Complex aromas include ripe red fruits, chocolate, vanilla and a note of smoke which comes from the oak aging.
Palate: In the mouth it has a sweet and gentle entrance with good structure and round feeling with an excellent balance of acidity.
Winemaking: this wine is 100% aged in new French Oak for 18 months, then stored for 12 months in the bottle prior to being released into the market. All
grapes are hand harvested from old vines, most planted around 1948. Vineyards sit 950m above sea level and good climatic conditions allow the winery to
maintain vineyards almost naturally with almost no fitosanitary treatment. During the vegetative season there is a difference of temperature between day and night of 15°C allowing for excellent colour and tannin development.
Soil: Sandy loam with limestone channels .Low to medium fertility with low percentage of organic material.
